Job Description
- Req#: 22480
- Provide nutritional recommendations and plans for patients in an outpatient setting, and work collaboratively with practitioners to make recommendations to meet nutritional and weight loss goals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to developing, presenting and/or coordinating educational programs; adhering to governing agencies’ guidelines and mandates; assessing patients and developing meal plans according to current standards of care; guiding support groups and teaching kitchen lessons; and acting as a resource and liaison to the community, helping provide promotional events to the community, physicians, nursing units, and ancillary departments at HMC/HMCS.
- Minimum Education
- Master’s Degree in Food, Nutrition, & Dietetics (RD)
- Minimum Work Experience
- 1 year of clinical experience minimum, or will consider less with relevant clinical experience during educational degree training
- Required Licenses/Certifications
- Current licensure registered dietician in the state of Texas
- Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Commitment to nutritional education as a methodology for promoting continuous quality improvement in the delivery of patient care and services
- Ability to develop and present educational information in a professional manner
- Organize and complete educational records according to facility and governing agency requirements
