      What you'll do

      The Remarketing Specialist is responsible for working with the Asset Liquidation team to provide highly skilled results in the area of distribution and resale of repossessed assets. They will manage all third-party interactions for the disposition of the secured collateral.

      Essential Duties/Responsibilities

      • Serve as Canvas Representative during simulcast auction sales nationwide.
      • Request and maintain Titles on repossessed assets.
      • Respond to Auction communication. Including Maintenance Approvals, Sale Offers, and general inquiries.
      • Review Market Value Guides to determine collateral pricing and profitability for remarketing assets.
      • File SWBC or Private Insurance damage claims for collateral by utilizing auction condition reports and photographs.
      • Serve as a point of contact for Loss Mitigation team as well as other departments for collateral remarketing.
      • Review account and loan documentation for member and co-borrower information to initiate warranty refunds.
      • Authorize payment for duplicate title fees and fronted agent fees.
      • Perform necessary follow-up to ensure secured asset is delivered timely and to correct auctions.
      • Assist in determining alternate transportation of repossessed collateral as needed nationwide.
      • Exhibit support for the organization’s goals, values, initiatives and cost control.
      • Adhere to Credit Union policies and all relevant regulations in connection with collection activity.
      • Comply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements.
      • Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets.
      • Recommend and help develop and implement new policies and procedures.
      • Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications.
      • Maintain up-to-date and accurate filing system.
      • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job
      • Perform other job duties as assigned.
      • Pre-employment background review (components include criminal, employment, address, social security number, motor vehicle record, global sanctions, and sex offender)

      Job Qualifications

      Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

      • Strong knowledge in recovery and collection requirements and regulatory compliance.
      • Strong understanding of skip trace processes.
      • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain loan terms, features, policies and procedures to members and business partners.
      • Strong relationship building and customer service skills.
      • Strong attention to detail.
      • Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Solid knowledge and understanding of Canvas financial products and services.
      • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
      • Ability to maintain confidences.
      • Multi-lingual capabilities to include Spanish are a plus.

      Education or Formal Training: High school diploma or GED.

      Experience: Two to five years of collections experience. Prior repossession experience helpful.

      Current Canvas employees must be meeting performance expectations and consistently demonstrating HEART behaviors to be considered.

      The starting pay range for this position is $22.00-$28.00/hourly, and final pay rate will be determined based on experience, education, skills, and internal equity factors. Canvas benefits include:

      Working Environment/Physical Activities

      High volume, fast-paced, dynamic office environment requiring demanding deadlines and production. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. The job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, fax machines and filing cabinets. The position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets. The position requires bending, stooping, or standing as necessary.
