      Job Title: Remediation Lead


      Job Description

      We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Smoke Remediation Project Manager to lead our efforts in response to the Eaton wildfires in Altadena. This critical role involves overseeing smoke remediation operations, ensuring job site safety, managing project timelines, and coordinating cleaning efforts to restore affected properties.

      Responsibilities

      • Oversee up to four job sites simultaneously, each with a site lead and a crew of five people.
      • Coordinate the procurement of cleaning supplies and equipment, manage storage, and ensure timely delivery to job sites.
      • Enforce safety regulations and PPE standards, and potentially help to establish specific OSHA requirements for the job site.
      • Occasionally liaise with donors and homeowners, though the role primarily focuses on site management.
      • Provide weekly verbal updates and monthly written progress reports to the internal team and national headquarters.

      Essential Skills

      • 3+ years of experience in smoke remediation, environmental remediation, construction management, or a related field.
      • Technical knowledge in fire restoration and smoke remediation, specifically cleaning ash and smoke post-fires.
      • Project management skills, including managing onsite crews, scheduling, coordinating resources, and staying within budget.
      • Knowledge of safety regulations and PPE standards, and ability to enforce them on the job site.
      • Ability to conduct quality checks and maintain high standards of cleaning and remediation.
      • Ability to effectively train and mentor crews in technical cleaning and decontamination procedures.
      • Financial literacy and experience managing budgets or project expenses.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Proven leadership experience managing teams in field operations.
      • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
      • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including wearing PPE for extended periods.
      • Flexibility to adapt to evolving program needs, operational adjustments, and new initiatives.
      • Resides in Los Angeles area, preferably in proximity to Altadena.
      • While not strictly required, certifications like IICRC and OSHA 10 or 30 demonstrate higher expertise.
      • At least a high school diploma is required. A college degree is preferred.

      Work Environment

      The dress code includes wearing PPE such as Tyvek suits, N95 masks, goggles, and gloves when on-site for remediation work. The project is primarily field-based in Altadena, with occasional administrative work at the office in Pasadena. The organization is flexible and collaborative, with an emphasis on building and optimizing operations together. The standard working hours are 8 to 5 or 9 to 5 with an hour lunch break, but the project manager has the flexibility to adjust the hours based on the needs of the project and the team.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
