What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Extract and abstract oncology-related data from various sources to support clinical research and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure data accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards through meticulous data collection and validation
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems and data abstraction tools effectively
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a strong understanding of oncology terminology and clinical workflows
- Adhere to regulatory requirements related to healthcare data, including HIPAA
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data abstraction
- Certification in Cancer Registry, ODS-C (Oncology Data Specialist)
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and data abstraction tools
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Abstracting experience in an oncology or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with Oncology Data software applications such as METRIQ
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to healthcare data
