  Job Title: Remote Civil 3D Designer (Must Live in Florida)

  Job Description

  This is an exciting opportunity for a talented civil designer to join a dynamic Water Resources Group. The role involves working on a wide range of civil engineering and water resources projects, with a focus on environmental restoration. The position offers the flexibility to design and build impactful solutions for ecosystems, watersheds, and communities. This role is based in Florida and can be situated in Tampa, West Palm Beach, or fully remote within the state.

  Responsibilities

  • Focus on large environmental restoration projects involving embankment systems, levees, reservoirs, pump stations, stream channel restoration, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues, and stormwater collection systems.
  • Prepare design drawings using Civil 3D software.
  • Perform additional duties based on qualifications and interests, including client communication, generating business opportunities, managing subconsultants/staff, and water modeling.

  Essential Skills

  • Expert level proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience with large earthwork projects.
  • Experience with alignments, corridors, and sheet set manager.
  • 7+ years of AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting experience.
  • Ability to create and manipulate surfaces and corridors using Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency with sheet set manager.

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with linear earthwork projects (e.g., levees).
  • Experience working with the South Florida Water Management District is a plus.
  • Training and experience in standard hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, ICPR, GEOSLOPE) is a plus.
  • Experience with InfraWorks, GIS, and hydrologic data analysis software preferred.
  • Capability to develop comprehensive design and bid packages, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • High level of personal integrity and work ethic.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional work and responsive service to clients.

  Work Environment

  The position is remote, with preference for candidates located near Tampa, Tallahassee, West Palm Beach, or Orlando offices. The organization is a leading provider of engineering, consulting, and program management services, enhancing infrastructure and environment throughout Florida.   Job Type & Location

  This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverview, FL.

  Pay and Benefits

  The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $45.00/hr.
