- Less than 6 months of experience
- Certification from AHIMA or AAPC
- Knowledge of medical terminology and Official Coding Guidelines

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's degree in Health Information Technology
- 6 months or greater of experience
- CCS or CPC certification
- Strong Microsoft Office knowledge skills
- Working knowledge of AHA Coding Clinic
