What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct thorough reviews of clinical documentation and diagnostic results to extract data
- Apply ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes and modifiers for billing and reimbursement
- Collaborate with internal customers, including hospital staff and physicians, to ensure accurate coding
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal reporting standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of professional coding experience
- Certification from AHIMA or AAPC
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and possess excellent organizational skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in pro-fee and facility coding
- Participation in continuing education for coding compliance
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated time management and critical thinking abilities
