What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collection/Recovery of medical claim overpayments through direct outreach via phone, e-mail, or fax method to the provider of service
- Effective communication with other staff/team members
- Coordination of collection efforts between the client and the provider, adjusting claims/reversals as required
- Development of effective collection/recovery approaches and workflows to maximize opportunities
- Understanding and interpretation of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) for determining correct overpayment amount

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum 1-year experience with medical billing/insurance collections
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong analytical skills, medical billing or claims processing knowledge, and collections background
- Basic knowledge of insurance procedures, working with insurance carriers, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Professional verbal and written communication skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Excel knowledge strongly preferred
- Experience as an Rx Technician or Customer Service Representative in a healthcare-related service
- Knowledge of CPT codes, ICD 9/10 codes
- Understanding of CMS guidelines surrounding Medicare Part A, B, and D
- Ability to work independently and achieve goals assertively
