- Generate designs and shop drawings.
- Assist with estimating by providing costing and labor estimates.
- Lead the creation and management of ECN/ECR to update product designs and implement improvements.
- Conduct product engineering design reviews for manufacturability.
- Recommend and implement designs or practices that result in cost savings, optimize production standards, and improve quality.
- Provide pertinent information to supply chain for outsourced materials and components.
- Develop testing methods and execute them to improve product reliability and performance.
- Design products that comply with certification files and regulatory standards, ensuring markings, wiring diagrams, and data labels are applied before shipping (UL, ETL, NSF, CSA).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solidworks, and CAD engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience in new product development and mechanical design.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations.
- 1+ years of experience designing in Solidworks.
Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob DescriptionAs a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for product design and the release of jobs to the production floor. You will work closely with sales, marketing, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs align with customer requirements and are manufacturable. Your role will involve guiding the product design lifecycle from concept to launch, including ideation, prototyping, testing, and improvement stages.
ResponsibilitiesThis is a family-owned company with a small team of 90 people, where each engineer wears multiple hats. You will be part of a 9-member engineering department and report to an experienced leader. The role involves designing in Solidworks 3D Model and Design drawings, which will be released to the production floor. The company's products are used across various industries, including café buffets, ovens, and freezers. While some product lines are custom, others involve standard racking systems with minor modifications.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of WAUSAU, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
