What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Coordinate and perform physician billing compliance reviews
- Train and educate new/existing providers and coding staff
- Analyze data/reports to identify trends and risk areas
- Respond to billing and coding questions from providers and staff
- Assist in developing department policies and procedures
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist Physician-based (CCS-P)
- Bachelor’s degree in business, health administration, health information management, or relevant work experience
- Five years of direct experience in chart abstraction, ICD or CPT coding
- Knowledge of government documentation, coding, and reimbursement guidelines
- Effective analytical and communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in academic healthcare auditing
- Strong in E/M Provider coding
- Knowledge of RBRVS and insurance reimbursement regulations
