Job Description
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineering Leader to support a portfolio of programs in the Remote Sensing Mission area. The position will set and implement the strategic vision, in partnership with the Embedded Talent Center and Software Factory organizations and will lead multiple teams to deliver high quality flight software products, critical for our customer and for national security. The position will also play a significant role in new business development.
This is critical leadership position withing Engineering & Technology’s Embedded Software Talent Center will have responsibility including, but not limited to: training, strategic initiatives, resource forecasting and management using Vemo, staffing, and driving Engineering actions to closure.
This position will be a leader of first line leaders as well as of individual contributors. The functional leadership responsibilities will include, but are not limited to staffing, performance management, recognition, talent development, retention, mentoring, and coaching.
The technical leadership responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: establishing and maintain SW baselines, contribute to collaborative development of SW/HW architectures for flight embedded, high reliability, high speed data network management (SpVPX, SpW, SRIO, etc.), control processing, data fusion, and systems. It also includes management of embedded flight and test software/firmware development efforts, implementing AI/ML capabilities in ground and flight applications, including development schedules, testing, deployments, discrepancy resolutions, and integration support for next higher assembly level integrations.

• Embedded software and flight processor experience
• Software New Business support including technical and cost volume inputs
• Demonstrated Experience leading a technical team of in any or all of the following discipline areas:
• Embedded Flight Software (FSW)
• Guidance Navigation and Control (GN&C)
• Data Exploitation and Sensemaking
• Testbed & Simulation (Tb&S)
• Demonstrated experience as a leader of leaders
• Strong mentoring skills
• Experience with National Security Space missions and customers

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $157,800 - $278,185. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
