      Job Description

      Role Overview

      The employee will join CGG Satellite Mapping, part of CGG’s Geoscience business line. The position is based in Massy, France.

      CGG Satellite Mapping harness the unique capabilities of Earth observation satellites, providing innovative geological mapping and monitoring solutions. We have access to the best imagery and elevation data, across a variety of applications and markets including Energy, Mining, Engineering, Environment and Defence.

      Joining a growing team, the employee will support in growing products through business development, interpretation of onshore imagery for geological mapping and its GIS production and development. The focus will be on exploration for critical and precious metals.

      Principle Accountabilities

      • Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
        • Geological interpretation of onshore imagery
        • Business Development for Satellite Mapping in the Mineral & Mining industry
        • GIS compilation, support & development
        • Ability to integrate and interpret geological data from a variety of sources
        • Understanding of satellite imagery, remote sensing and image classifications/Machine Learning desirable

      Qualifications

      Essential

      • Fluent in French & English,
      • Work from the CGG office in Massy, France,
      • Business Development experience in the Minerals & Mining sector,
      • Suited to candidates with at least a BSc in Geology,
      • Remote sensing &/or Mineral Exploration in a related MSc,
      • Understanding of Mineral Systems,
      • Understanding of Geological Remote Sensing;

      Preferred

      • Working knowledge of various remote sensing platforms used for geological mapping,
      • Working knowledge of spatial data from airborne geophysical surveys,
      • Background/experience in Business Development desirable,
      • GIS background (ArcGIS or QGIS preferred).
