      Job summary

      The Report & Dashboard Developer will create high-quality data visualisation products using Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft SQL Server to convey key insights to users across the organisation. Working for Informatics in the Digital Services directorate, this role combines the technical aspects of developing measures and SQL statements with the ability to create data-driven reports from a set of requirements, delivering intuitive reporting solutions that support clinical and operational decision-making. The developer will create comprehensive documentation, provide maintenance support for reporting environments, and collaborate with stakeholders to understand and meet their information needs.

      Main duties of the job

      Design and Develop Data Visualisations

      o Create high-standard reports and dashboards using modern data visualisation methodologies

      o Develop self-service reporting solutions that meet business needs

      o Implement effective data visualisation techniques to convey complex information clearly

      o Technical Documentation and Support

      o Produce comprehensive documentation including design templates, testing plans, and user guides

      o Create both technical documentation and business user-focused materials

      o Ensure all developments adhere to change control processes with rigorous testing procedures

      o Stakeholder Collaboration

      o Work with Information Business Partners and data engineers to analyse business/care delivery processes

      o Present complex information to diverse stakeholders and address ad-hoc queries

      o Translate technical concepts into accessible solutions for non-technical users

      o System Development and Maintenance

      Participate in projects aligned with key organisational objectives

      Maintain and administer reporting environments

      The Informatics Delivery Team forms a critical part of the Trust's digital information network, consisting of dedicated data analysts and report developers who collaborate closely with the Requirements and Assurance as well as the Data Engineering teams. Based at Jeannette Wallace House in Croydon, the team develops and maintains comprehensive reporting systems for the Trust.

      We ensure high-quality data for both internal management and external NHS reporting requirements while working alongside clinicians, service managers, and leadership to understand their needs. Through our technical expertise, we enable the Trust to enhance patient care through data-informed planning and service improvements.
