What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze and reconcile grant funds and accounts to identify errors or discrepancies
- Serve as a liaison for Departmental Administrators and Principal Investigators regarding financial data
- Communicate with sponsors and subcontractors about contract and budget modifications
- Prepare journal entries and account analyses based on financial activity
- Assist internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation and analyses
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent education and work experience
- Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for financial reporting
- Knowledge of federal compliance regulations and sponsor policies
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with financial systems such as Banner Finance and COEUS
- Previous experience in research accounting within a non-profit or higher education setting
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
