What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Annotate American Sign Language (ASL) language samples and analyze ASL data
- Prepare research data for progress reports, presentations, and publications
- Assist in training and supervising research assistants involved in ASL tasks
- Identify problems and suggest solutions, including revisions to the annotation manual
- Conduct research tasks under minimal to moderate supervision
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's degree or higher
- Less than 1 year of relevant work experience
- Advanced listening skills and proficiency in language translation
- Basic knowledge of data collection and analysis techniques
- Ability to recognize and address research-related problems
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in research or academic settings related to language or communication
- Familiarity with American Sign Language
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Previous experience in data analysis or research methodologies
