      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Conduct comprehensive evaluations of emerging technologies relevant to roadway infrastructure
      - Perform exploratory research focused on the transition to technology-native roadway systems
      - Synthesize research findings into white papers, technical memos, and educational materials
      - Raise awareness of new transportation technologies through presentations and information-sharing
      - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to communicate findings and drive innovation

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Ph.D. degree in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering, computer science, or data science by the appointment start date
      - Specialized knowledge in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, or computer vision
      - Understanding of structural mechanics and smart materials, including deployable robotics or remote sensing
      - Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration within the Center's mission
      - Candidates are not expected to have expertise in all areas but should possess specialized knowledge in one or more fields

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Expertise in computational technology and informatics, particularly in low-power sensing systems or embedded hardware
      - Knowledge of smart materials and condition assessment techniques
      - Familiarity with modeling and surrogate modeling methodologies
      - Experience in research dissemination through various communication channels
      - Background in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering with a focus on innovative infrastructure solutions
