      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Lead original research focused on mapping canopy structural details in 3D using new technology
      - Conduct fieldwork to collect 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanning data across designated forest sites
      - Investigate the relationship between canopy structural metrics and leaf traits using imaging spectroscopy data
      - Develop algorithms to map canopy structural traits using co-located data
      - Assess the optimization of canopy structural traits for photosynthesis across vertical gradients

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Ph.D. in plant physiology, ecology, earth system science, remote sensing, or a related field by the appointment start date
      - Extensive experience in one or more advanced computer programming languages such as Matlab, Python, or R
      - Strong skills in verbal and written communication of scientific results
      - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
      - Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Knowledge of LiDAR data processing and the ecophysiology of canopy structure and function
      - Experience working collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive scholarly environment
      - Demonstrated enthusiasm and creativity in research approaches
