What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct complex legal research and draft legal documents and responses
- Prepare legal analysis and written recommendations for cases pending before the Court
- Interact with judges to discuss cases and provide legal guidance
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal standards, policies, and procedures
- Perform clerical tasks such as handling phone calls, filing documentation, and processing mail
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Juris Doctorate required
- Minimum of two years as a member of the California State Bar Association and practicing attorney
- Experience in legal research and developing legal opinions
- Knowledge of principles and practices of legal research and analysis
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a public agency or court setting
- Specialized certifications and/or training relevant to the position
- Familiarity with California statutes related to court processes
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
- Experience using computerized legal research methods
