- Public Health, Schools, and Communities (community engagement, comprehensive safety in schools and in communities, mental health promotion and school-based mental health services, school discipline, social determinants of health, suicide prevention, trauma-informed care and approaches, and violence prevention)
- Thriving Youth & Justice Systems (adolescent science, criminal justice and policing, intergenerational supports for families impacted by the justice system, juvenile justice, re-entry and supports, restorative justice, social justice, youth engagement, and youth led movements)
- Whole Child Learning & Development in K-12 Educational Settings (conditions for learning, mindsets and mindfulness, restorative practices, school climate, science of learning and development, and social and emotional learning and related frameworks)
- Youth Development & Family Engagement (arts, community schools, family engagement, nature and environmental education, out-of-school time, sports, youth engagement, and youth leadership development).
- Coordinate activities for research projects and support project management
- Clean, code, and analyze data from survey data, interviews, documents, and extant data using the appropriate scientific approaches and software (e.g. NVivo, STATA, R, or SPSS).
- Prepare documents, portions of reports, briefs, charts, and graphs that describe and interpret findings of analyses
- Communicate effectively, orally or in writing, with clients, site-based staff, and other evaluation stakeholders.
- Work independently and in team-based projects
- Must be a current student (for the duration of the internship) enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral program within in Social Sciences (i.e., Economics, Psychology, Public Policy, Sociology, etc.)
- Qualitative data coding and analysis experience using NVivo or similar software
- The research project focuses on trauma-responsive educational approaches in schools, so some knowledge of how schools in the U.S. function and how students are supported (for example, multi-tiered systems of support, the roles of counselors, etc.) is a plus but not require
- Comfortable working independently and as a member of a team with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when writing
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate efficiently in a virtual work environment

This position offers $25.00-$30.00 per hour. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the organization and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the salary for candidates that are based in the United States.
