What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop an understanding of research areas and methodologies related to non-communicable diseases
- Conduct quantitative analyses and statistical modeling for collaborative research projects
- Extract and assess data from various sources, ensuring its relevance for ongoing analysis
- Document analytical approaches and code to facilitate replication by team members
- Lead discussions in research meetings to vet and finalize results
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, math, economics, quantitative social sciences, or related discipline plus 1 year of related experience
- Strong analytic, critical thinking, and quantitative skills with the ability to learn complex information quickly
- Proficiency in R, with a willingness to become familiar with Python
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in epidemiological research and co-authorship on scientific papers
- Interest in methodological innovation and conducting independent analyses
- Knowledge of machine learning, data mining, and analytic techniques
- Experience with external collaborators and conducting literature reviews
- Demonstrated initiative in presenting research results and representing research at meetings
