Job Description

- Responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital (or rural facility).
- Provide after-hours emergency cover as determined by the relevant work unit.
- Rotations to Rural Practice sites across the state are available.
- Contribute to working a variety of shifts including days, afternoon and nights including weekdays and weekends.
- Access to 5 terms each clinical year providing more exposure to a variety of rotations – this is inclusive of 2 “Service Terms”
- Weekly JMO tutorials/training sessions provided both face to face or via Microsoft Teams
- Access to the Work Based Assessment Program, eligibility criteria does apply.
- Up to 12 months Hospital Accommodation provided
- Financial relocation assistance is available
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
- Salary range is in accordance with Salaried Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2022
- General or unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Hold a Drivers License/ability to obtain to enable travel between both sites as you will be required to work across sites depending on operational need.
- Conviction checks in the following areas:
- crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
- Identification check
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check.

Tasmanian Health Service - North West (North West Regional Hospital, Burnie, and Mersey Community Hospital, Latrobe) has multiple opportunities for Resident Medical Officers.

The Hospital:
The Tasmanian Health Service – North West Region encompasses two hospitals, the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie and the Mersey Community Hospital in Latrobe. We are currently seeking applications for Resident Medical Officers to work across both hospitals.

Details of Appointment
Fixed term full time, shift-worker position working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from March 2024 until March 2025.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
Salary: $92,500 - $105,000 per annum. Our 11% employer superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
