      AHC–American Health Communities is a network of 29 skilled nursing and rehab facilities. We treat patients recovering from illness, injury or surgery and provide daily care for long-term residents. Our parent company, American Health Partners, based in Tennessee, is a multifaceted company with operations in seven states.

      Responsibilities:

      The Restorative Aide position is to provide rehabilitative and restorative care to patients to maximize their potential in a manner conducive to their comfort and safety.

      • To perform this job, an individual must accomplish each essential function satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
      • Perform range of motion exercises as assigned and in accordance with patient’s needs
      • Ambulate or assist with ambulation of patients
      • Assist nursing staff with bed to chair positioning
      • Supervise the feeding program to ensure adequate food and fluid intake
      • Routinely review work assignments and schedules to update or change task objectives
      • Apply hand splints, hand cones, leg braces, etc. as prescribed and assigned
      • Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning and transporting patients into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
      • Accompany patients to various medical facilities for appointments, etc.
      • Introduce newly admitted or newly transferred patients to their roommate(s) if any, as well as to other patients and to co-workers as appropriate
      • Inventory, identify and help store patient’s personal possessions daily
      • Assist with caring for patients’ eyeglasses, hearing aids, prostheses, etc.
      • Assist patients prepare for activity and social programs
      • Observe, monitor and intervene for availability and reachability of bedside call signal as well as cleanliness of patients’ water pitchers, drinking glasses, straws and other bedside items
      • Serve between meals, bedtime and other nutritional snacks
      • Perform routine housekeeping duties related to patient care
      • Clean used equipment such as utensils, thermometers, etc.
      • Other duties as assigned

      Qualifications:

      • Minimum of six (6) months experience working in a nursing facility, hospital, facility health agency or other health care facility working in rehabilitation of patients.
      • Completion of an approved Nurses’ Aide Training Program
      • Basic Restorative Aide Certificate
      • Advanced Restorative Aide Certificate preferred
