      Role:

      The Assistant Retail Manager is responsible for supervising the overall performance of the retail experience based on the general direction of the Retail Manager. This individual leads from the front to deliver a consistent and excellent customer experience. Additionally, the Assistant Retail Manager provides coaching of proper behaviors, sales techniques and service expectations while leading by example.

      Responsibilities:

      • Maintains an on the floor presence and provides supervision of retail team member performance.

      • Provides leadership, supervision, training, and feedback during a regular schedule; works flexibly during times of high customer traffic to provide these same skills.

      • Under general direction and in the absence of the Retail Store Manager, fulfill enhanced duties and responsibilities.

      • Assists with interviews and provides initial onboarding, training, and continuing skills training to Sales Associates and Retail Supervisor.

      • Collaborates with the Retail Manager, Supervisor, and In-Store Sales and Marketing Associate to maintain accurate Occasion event calendars and provide prompt communication or forwarding of emails received regarding events.

      • Communicates with and maintains relationships with Community Hosts, in collaboration with the Retail Manager and Supervisor to ensure all events are meeting service standards.

      • Provides support in maintaining preregistration lists for events, facilitating updates, cancelations, and adjustments as needed.

      • Assesses our community involvement and the utilization of our play spaces through sales data, industry information, and employee and customer feedback.

      • Ensure proper merchandising of products, with direction from Procurement and Merchandising, in order to optimize sales and create a unique customer experience.

      • Works with the Retail Manager to attract, interview, hire, and engage employees and community hosts with unique gaming knowledge and skill sets.

      • Participates in the management and the overall effectiveness of inventory, single card sales, and used card buying inclusive of card handling, and non-cash payments to customers, some of which are of high value.

      • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

      Qualifications:

      • High School Diploma or GED.

      • Basic level comprehension of Magic: the Gathering rules and regulations.

      • Judge Academy Certified Level 1 Judge (preferred)

      • 3+ years of experience in retail sales, merchandising, and service.

      • 2+ years of experience in supervising and/or managing.

      • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.

      • Demonstrates genuine interest and desire to develop their management skills and acumen.

      • Creates accountability in others for maintaining a superior customer experience, achievement of results and adherence to Card Kingdom Inc. values.

      • Provides wide understanding of the different game/product specialization areas with our retail operations, attracting, hiring, engaging, and retaining employees and volunteers with unique knowledge of these areas.

      • Resolves conflict quickly, effectively, and consistently in a professional manner.

      • Communicates effectively (both written and oral) using clear, concise, and understandable language.

      • Demonstrates responsible, ethical, and honest behavior in all aspects of their role.

      • Able and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and occasional holidays.

      • Has working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Word and Excel.

      • Previous working experience with and common working knowledge of a retail POS.

      • Collaborates with others to solve problems and create solutions.

      • Has genuine interest in gaming and creative play.

      • Supports the promotion of our community involvement and utilization of our play spaces.

      • Knowledge of Trading Card Games and/or Hobby Gaming.

      • Non-exempt: Hourly from $25.58 - $28.09
