- Ensure proper floor coverage by managing staff schedules, including breaks and lunches.
- Delegate tasks for opening and closing the store, including replenishment and register processes.
- Open and close the retail store.
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service experiences.
- Oversee and resolve customer requests, concerns, and complaints to ensure satisfaction.
- Foster customer loyalty by building relationships with repeat and potential repeat customers.
- Successfully meet and exceed sales goals, coaching the team to achieve business objectives.
- Maintain a safe and polished retail environment.
- Hold the team accountable to policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Ensure adherence to legal policies and practices.
- Create and maintain a visually compelling retail environment that aligns with brand aesthetics.
- Ensure merchandise presentation adheres to standards, including displays, signage, and cleanliness.
- Partner with the team to execute seasonal updates and special event setups.
- Drive sales through coaching, product knowledge, and exemplary service.
- Train and mentor staff in upselling, cross-selling, and delivering personalized shopping experiences.
- Collaborate on strategies to achieve sales performance goals and improve conversion rates.
- Supervise Store Associates.
- A high school diploma or equivalent certificate of completion.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team in a retail setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated success in sales, customer service, or visual merchandising.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Passionate about creating exceptional customer experiences and supporting a team-oriented culture.
- Flexibility to work evenings, holidays, and weekends

- Multi-lingual skills a plus.
- Experience with Teamwork POS system a plus, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets).
- Ability to remain in a stationary position.

Summary/Objective:
The Retail Lead will play an essential role in the Museum store’s leadership team. You will assist in the management of the daily operations of the store, along with helping, coaching, monitoring, and appraising retail staff to provide first-class retail services to visitors, while encouraging enthusiasm for and knowledge about exhibitions and items in the collection. You will lead a specialty focus of the retail store, either visual merchandising or service & selling.

Work Environment:
Travel: The percentage of travel time expected for the position is 10%. May travel between the Academy Museum Store and Jefferson Warehouse Locations.

Compensation: The expected salary for this role is $21.50 per hour. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
