      As a member of our retail team you will become an invaluable part of the Blazing Bagels team, ensuring that Blazing Bagels can provide that “Oh My Gosh” bagel experience to all of our customers and team members. In this role you will primarily be responsible for providing amazing customer service, ringing up customer orders, preparing mouthwatering sandwiches and bagels, and preparing espresso drinks. Our Retail Team Members are tasked with providing customers with super-fast service, a memorable and unique experience, as well as awesome bagels and sandwiches. Shift Leads oversee daily operations during designated shifts, supports employees, and ensures that our customers receive outstanding service. The Shift Leader's responsibilities include creating a shift schedule, adjusting operations for no-shows, delegating tasks, handling cash up, and reporting any issues to the manager. To be successful as a Shift Leader, you should be able to manage a team of people and ensure that all duties are performed accurately.

      Job Responsibilities

      • Keep things upbeat, friendly, and exciting for customers.
      • Prepare quality sandwiches and bagel orders to company standards.
      • Build important relationships and connections with customers and respond to their needs.
      • Ensure that all retail facing environments are kept neat, tidy, stocked, and to company standards.
      • Become an expert on the products that Blazing Bagels sells.
      • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
      • Follows and complies, or ensures compliance, with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
      • Maintains, or ensures maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment in accordance with Blazing Bagels cleanliness and safety standards.
      • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
      • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.
      • Performs other duties as requested.
      • Oversees food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
      • Ensures customer satisfaction with all aspects of the cafe and dining experience.
      • Handles customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
      • Provides direction and feedback to workers during shifts
      • Trains and coaches new employees
      • Inspects equipment and communicates the need for repairs or replacements to management
      • Fosters and maintains a positive work environment

      Required Skills/Competencies:

      • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
      • Excellent time management skills.
      • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
      • Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.

      Education and Experience:

      • High school diploma or equivalent required.
      • Previous restaurant and or café experience required.
      • Successful completion of the corporate training program required.

      Physical Requirements:

      • Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.
      • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
      • Prolonged periods standing as needed at POS and prep counters.
      • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
