What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Respond to patient inquiries and resolve issues from patients, family members, and insurance companies
- Manage A/R reports, adjustments, and correspondence on a daily basis
- Follow up with insurance companies regarding claim payments and non-payments
- File claims with various insurance companies and ensure accurate patient account adjustments
- Communicate professionally and effectively with all stakeholders, including payors and co-workers
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- Minimum of less than 3 years of experience in a medical practice, customer service, or revenue cycle department
- Knowledge of medical insurance, managed care plans, CPT, ICD9, and ICD10 codes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to read and understand Explanations of Benefits from all insurance companies
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification as a CPC preferred for designated trainer positions and those involved in coding directly from the chart
