Right of Way Agent

The Right of Way Agent plays a crucial role in project coordination, easement acquisition, title research, damage negotiation, and fostering customer relationships. This position is vital in supporting initiatives that advance the construction, operation, and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution facilities.

Responsibilities

• Acquire land, land rights, licenses, leases, permits, and other documents essential for electric transmission lines and distribution facilities.
• Prepare, maintain, and revise property owners’ files, right of way maps, records, drawings, exhibits, and progress reports as required.
• Act as an expert witness and collaborate with legal counsel and project management in court actions related to condemnation.
• Conduct complex negotiations with landowners or their representatives for rights acquisition related to electric transmission and distribution facilities.
• Settle intricate damage claims with landowners regarding property damage incurred during construction or maintenance of facilities.
• Perform courthouse and record searches to ascertain current property ownership and interest extents.
• Stay informed on real estate values and appraisal practices to advise on fair market value ranges for land acquisition.
• Draft and prepare necessary documents for rights of entry, damage claims, contracts, easements, licenses, leases, permits, and options to purchase using Transmission document database (TransROW).
• Participate in public meetings and informational hearings as needed.
• Take on additional responsibilities and projects, maintaining close communication with personnel.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
