- Design data collection processes, collect and analyze data, lead data reporting and data visualization activities
- Translate our complex data from disparate sources (EPIC, Mosaiq, etc.) to explain their interconnectivity and relevance for a variety of audiences
- Execute computer programs for data extraction, data set creation and analysis using spreadsheets and statistical software packages (e.g., Excel, Stata). Problem solve or troubleshoot when syntax or software is not performing
- Communicate and liaise with internal partners, such as Cancer Registry and EDW, to optimize RMP data submissions, ensure accurate reporting for QBP, and problem solve issues as they arise
- Identify appropriate analytics solutions through stakeholder engagement, literature review and requirements gathering
- Conduct reconciliation review of OH reports with respect to our submissions to validate funding and identify missed opportunities
- Act as a data steward, operating within UHN's data governance framework, to oversee, assign, and/or escalate RMP data requests
- Develop and implement analytics solutions through predictive analytics, modeling, simulation, dashboards and reports
- Visualize complex organizational data to tell a story, derive data-driven insights and demonstrate value
Qualifications
- An Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics, Public Health or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a healthcare environment supporting analytics, dashboards, simulation, and reporting or equivalent;
- Minimum 2 year of related experience in project management
- Experience designing and developing dashboards, routine and ad-hoc reports from multiple datasets
- Ability to incorporate subject matter expertise, published literature, and evidence to develop innovative analytics solutions that meet program requirements
- Experience working on multiple projects from initiation to close-out, including scoping, planning, implementation, issue/risk management and benefits realization
- Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of equity, anti-racism, and anti-oppression principles and practices
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint)
- Demonstrated well-formed organizational, time management, communication, decision making and facilitation skills
- Flexibility working in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to systematically analyze situations/issues, identify options, draw logical conclusions and determine/recommend practical courses of action
- Excellent data analysis skills to identify patterns, visualize findings and communicate insights
- Able to work with minimal supervision on moderately complex tasks
- Able to work with multidisciplinary teams in a positive and productive manner
- Able to effectively deal with high priority unscheduled tasks and problems
- Experience developing presentations and presenting to various stakeholder groups including senior management
- Experience in business writing skills and documentation
Considered an asset
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience working in research and familiarity with the EPIC Health Information System
- Knowledge of the Ontario health care system and public health and an understanding of cancer care, including radiation medicine
- Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, MS Azure, MS Power BI and simulation software [e.g. Simul8];
- Hands on experience with the CIHI datasets, or other large health-related data sets (e.g. Wait Times)

Position Summary
The Radiation Medicine Program (RMP) at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and highly organized Data Analytics Lead to provide analytics and reporting expertise to support the operational and research activities of the program.
The incumbent will work under the Manager, Program Development and Strategic Partnerships and collaboratively with RMP Data Analytics staff to optimize data management and reporting pathways. The Analytics Lead will work closely with the operations, clinical, quality and safety, evaluation and research experts to produce data-driven insights that can inform strategic decisions, prepare operational and regulatory reporting, and evaluate outcomes at the patient, organizational and system-level.
