What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review requestor information to determine records to be released, ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines
- Answer phone calls regarding various Release of Information (ROI) issues as needed
- Process requests from walk-in customers and log information into the ROI On-Line database
- Scan medical records and log requests into the ROI On-Line database
- Handle and record cash payments for requests at specified sites
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of one year of experience entering data into computer systems
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to respond to customer inquiries
- Proven track record of dependability and success in detail-oriented environments
- Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician's office or Health Information Management (HIM) Department is a plus
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations is preferred
