What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review requestor information to determine records to be released, ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines
- Answer phone calls and address various Release of Information (ROI) issues
- Process walk-in requests for medical records and log customer information into the ROI On-Line database
- Prioritize and fax medical record requests from physician offices
- Scan medical records and log requests into the ROI On-Line database
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one year of experience entering data into computer systems
- Strong verbal communication skills with a proven track record of responding to customer inquiries
- Ability to work independently and meet production goals
- Experience in a Release of Information role within a physician’s office or HIM Department is a plus
