      Join our team as a Roofing Assistant in the Building Maintenance and Operations department, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing campus roofing systems. This position performs preventative maintenance, assists roofers with daily projects, and ensures a safe and efficient work environment.       Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

      • Perform preventative maintenance on roofs, including clearing debris from drains, scuppers, and surfaces
      • Inspect and document roof deficiencies, reporting them to the supervisor
      • Assist roofers with material delivery, job site preparation, and equipment setup
      • Help patch built-up roofs using hot and cold applications
      • Support waterproofing efforts for buildings and below-grade structures
      • Assist with asphalt patching for streets and caulking expansion joints, belt courses, and coping stones
      • Aid in the installation of signs, benches, tables, and fences
      • Set up scaffolding, climb ladders, and ensure roofers have the necessary tools and materials
      • Maintain cleanliness of gutters and roof surfaces
