What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct loss analysis and research to assess policyholder safety efforts and detect hazards
- Prepare and submit reports of findings to management, making recommendations for improvements
- Evaluate policyholder safety programs and work sites for hazardous conditions
- Provide underwriters with information regarding the safety levels of policyholders
- Mentor and guide Safety and Loss Control Trainees as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in occupational safety management or consulting
- Knowledge of risk management as it relates to safety and industrial hygiene
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s degree in Safety or Industrial Hygiene from an accredited college or university
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or related certifications
- Familiarity with Federal OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and NFPA standards
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience conducting Industrial Hygiene testing
