- You will develop, plan, organize, coordinate, administer, and evaluate a comprehensive 24-hour ground safety program for military and civilian personnel.
- You will plan and schedule periodic surveys of installation facilities and provide advice and guidance to managers on a full range of industrial and maintenance functions including the operation of steam, water and wastewater treatment plants.
- You will evaluate compliance with applicable regulations and hazards classification system recommending methods to correct safety and occupational health issues and deficiencies.
- You will initiate and carry out education activities by providing training courses such as hazard communication, confined space entry, fall protection, lockout/tagout, etc. to employees.
- You will coordinate safety and occupational health activities with representatives of the medical, security and other organizational components.
- You will review and closes aviation/ground accident investigations using AFSAS.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You must be able obtain and maintain a current valid State driver’s license.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be exposed to industrial and construction hazards, machine, and equipment operations, high noise levels, chemical agents, hazardous materials, extreme temperatures, and adverse weather conditions.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver’s license.
- Must hold a current FAA multi-engine instrument rating fixed or rotary, verified on the FAA Certificate.
- Must have completed a military Aviation Safety Officer course or a Civilian Equivalent, such as NTSB or DOT, verified with a certificate.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing, organizing, and scheduling a comprehensive ground safety inspection program to ensure conformance of safe practices, rules and regulations for detecting hazards, and determining corrective actions.
