Job Summary: The Sales Development Representative is responsible for qualifying leads at the initial stages in the sales funnel. This role will research potential clients, connect with and educate prospects, and qualify leads before handing them off to the appropriate sales team. The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for servicing inbound sales and related inquiries with a focus on engaging and qualifying all prospective customers. This role is one of the first touchpoints for prospects and has the opportunity to set the tone for the sales cycle following.
Key Responsibilities: - Proactively pursue and qualify sales leads via telesales and email marketing
- Conduct a needs assessment, determine client requirements and expectations in order to pass qualified sales opportunities onto the sales team
- Generate and vet leads based on sales and marketing-determined criteria and pass in a timely fashion to the sales team
- Effectively communicate with sales team and schedule calls, webinars, and appointments with qualified leads for them
- Strategize with top-producing sales leaders
- Create target prospects lists and penetrate key accounts
- Cold call into prospects generated by a variety of outside sources, 40-50 touches per day
- Identify key players, researching and obtaining business requirements, and presenting solutions to begin the sales cycle
- Set appointments for sales team when a lead reaches a qualified stage
Desired Skills and Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in a business discipline or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of software/SaaS sales or related market/business experience.
- Ability to thrive in a team selling environment.
- Ability to develop sales relationships with clients and solicit referrals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High-level of self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
- Must be energetic, eager to learn, and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
