- Attend appropriate trade shows, Tourism and social association mixers
- Development of new business through various proactive direct sales and marketing efforts, such as tele-prospecting calls, and site tours
- Outside sales calls to area businesses to attract corporate accounts, team training experiences, weddings and other events and sleeping rooms.
- Develop and follow annual sales and marketing plan
- Manage accounts proficiently and accurately
- Use STS tool and property PMS systems for updating and tracking accounts. Prepare weekly reports and utilize revenue reporting systems.
- Respond promptly and professionally to all inquiries for group room blocks and meetings with information and prepare proposals / contracts to secure the business.
- Help maximize revenue by focusing on business that will fill shoulder nights and need times.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new client base.
- Prepare group resume and brief front desk staff on incoming groups, requirements and needs.
- Attend weekly Banquet/Event Order Meetings and provide direction and oversight on strategies. Participate in Sales and hotel meetings.
- Develop strong relationships with on property front office/banquets team to ensure working in unity and always striving to achieve the same goals.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by Director of Sales, General Manager and Management Company.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner in order to solicit business, meets client needs and resolve complaints.
- Proficient in computer office programs
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work as a team and independently with minimum supervision.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, quality and service at all times.
- Pride and attention to detail.
- Meet or exceed set revenue and sales goals.
- Execute tasks on annual sales and marketing plan.
- Prefer a minimum of 2 years previous hotel experience.
- Proven success in a similar role and environment.
- College degree, High School Diploma or GED required.
About the company
As the Social Sales Manager, you will assist the Director of Sales in leading the revenue efforts a dual property hotel. Responsibilities include attaining new social business (and maintain existing), negotiating group rates and contracts, cultivate relationships for private and social events including weddings, galas, prom, and other social gatherings and special occasions. This role is responsible for generating leads, closing event sales, and ensuring a seamless handoff to the event planning team for flawless execution through direct client contact and over the phone with the goal of maximizing total revenue and ensuring sales goal are met and exceeded.Other responsibilities will include:
