      Description

      We’re looking for an experienced and strategic SAP Development Leader to guide the design, development, and optimization of SAP solutions in our S/4HANA environment. In this key leadership role, you’ll provide both technical direction and hands-on development expertise, driving high-impact projects from planning through execution. You’ll lead system enhancements, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure peak system performance. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll translate business needs into scalable technical solutions while upholding best practices, compliance and coding standards.


      Responsibilities:

      • Technical Leadership:
        Provide expert technical oversight across the SAP development ecosystem, including ABAP, CDS Views, Fiori, IDocs, BTP, and related toolsets. Ensure development standards, performance, and quality are consistently met while mentoring and guiding a team of developers.
      • Strategic Planning & Collaboration:
        Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative, scalable SAP solutions. Evaluate and recommend emerging development methodologies, testing tools, and technologies to meet evolving business needs efficiently and sustainably.
      • Problem Solving & Support:
        Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex SAP issues, providing hands-on technical expertise and guidance to resolve system and application challenges.
      • Development & Enhancements:
        Oversee the design, development, and implementation of RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms), SAP workflows, and system interfaces to support business operations and growth.
      • Team Development & Innovation:
        Inspire and support the development team in adopting modern tools and technologies. Promote continuous learning by staying informed of industry trends and participating in technical conferences, training sessions, and SAP user groups as appropriate.

      Requirements

      • BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
      • 3+ years leading or managing a development and mentoring others
      • 10+ years in IT systems development and support in a manufacturing, sales and distribution, or horticultural company
      • 5+ years doing hands on development using SAP ABAP – related to S/4HANA, MM, PP, FI & SD modules, BTP, EDI. Includes SAP development tools (SAP Service Marketplace, Eclipse, SAP Notes search and SDN, performance tuning)
      • Integration with 3rd party products
      • Extensive experience working directly with infrastructure teams and Basis administration to maintain system stability, performance and security.
      • Extensive experience with (CDS Views, Fiori applications, BTP Integration Suite)
      • ABAP and ABAP OO Skills
      • Exposing SAP functions through web services (SOAP, REST)
      • Perform end-user training as well as internal cross-training to other team members
      • Understanding of development methodologies such as ASAP, Agile, ITIL or equivalent
      • Experience with 2 or more of the following programming and reporting tools (SQL, LSMW, Data Dictionary, CATT, Smart Forms/SAPScript, IDoc, ALV, EDI/XML, CDS, RAP (Restful ABAP Programming), BTP, security & authorization profiles)
      • MS Windows environment and Office applications

      Desired Technical Experience

      • SAP BAPI, IDoc, EDI processing and use of PI
      • Knowledge and understanding of SAP Fiori and S/4 HANA
      • Experience with SAP RESTful Application programming for Fiori applications
      • Tricentis Tosca Regression Testing Tool
      • Tricentis Neoload performance/load testing tool
      • Exposure to SAP Solution Manager, SSO, and authorizations
      • Exposure to interface tools (RFC and API’s, web service calls, XML)
      • SAP Solution Manager
      • SAPScript/Smart Forms
      • SAP experience in SD, MM, PP, WM, BPC, BI, PI, EDI/XML/PI, QN, FI, CO
      • SAP Workflow knowledge
      • Reporting tools
      • SAP CDS, SAP tables, List views, ALV
      • Microsoft reporting services & dashboards including SharePoint and Power BI
      • Esker Document Management
      • Bar Coding, PDA, wireless technologies and IoT devices


      Physical Requirements

      • Ability to sit/stand 100% of the time
      • Ability to use fingers/hands 100% of the time
      • Have the ability to travel less than 5% of the year on average.


      120,000 - 130,000 Annually
