What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Proficiently navigate the scheduling system for surgical cases and enter relevant data
- Answer phone calls from patients, facilities, and surgeon offices, directing them to the appropriate departments
- Coordinate call trades and evening/weekend call coverage for physicians
- Communicate with administrative staff to facilitate schedule changes and maintain logs
- Sort and distribute incoming faxes and maintain organized records in the scheduling system
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 1-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of medical practices and terminology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with a multi-line phone system and ability to manage a large volume of calls

- Previous experience in surgery scheduling
- Ability to read and interpret business reports and technical procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills in non-standardized situations
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings and evenings
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships
