What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assess urgency of incoming calls and provide assistance or direct callers to the appropriate personnel
- Schedule patient appointments, resolve scheduling conflicts, and notify patients of changes or cancellations
- Build and modify provider master schedules and clinic calendars based on established sources
- Handle administrative tasks such as obtaining patient charts, verifying insurance information, and processing payments
- Generate reports and maintain clinical and patient statistical data
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of four years of related work experience, with two years in the same job family at a lower level, or an Associate degree with two years of related work experience
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to handle heavy phone volume and manage patient interactions with sound judgment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in English language, grammar, and punctuation for accurate data entry and communication
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience scheduling in a high-volume healthcare-related call center or medical practice
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with EPIC scheduling and electronic medical record systems
- Experience with multi-line telephones and call queues
- Spanish speaking ability
