What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments using hospital software and maintain accurate patient information
- Conduct insurance verification and benefit explanations while handling authorizations and pre-certifications
- Collect and post payments, issue receipts, and manage daily deposits
- Counsel patients on financial obligations and assist with Medicaid screening and hospital discounts
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, including the orientation of new staff
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school graduate or GED with seven years of experience in business office administration or customer service, including three years in a healthcare environment OR a Bachelor's degree with three years of relevant experience
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills for effective communication with diverse individuals
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Highly motivated and self-directed with proficient computer and keyboard skills
- Ability to establish plans of action and manage multiple tasks effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- CHAA certification
