      Job Description

The School Operations Workforce Lead is a central role responsible for optimizing the deployment and management of the school-based operations workforce, including Operations Associates (OA), Senior Operations Associates (SOA), Business Operations Managers (BOMs), and temporary workers. This involves strategic workforce planning, ensuring efficient placement and scheduling, maintaining strict compliance with all relevant labor laws, overseeing timekeeping practices, and providing essential training and support to operational leaders. The role is critical for managing labor costs effectively, mitigating legal risks, and supporting efficient school operations following the workforce structure change.

      Responsibilities:

      • Workforce Planning: Manage headcounts per school based on the established model, analyzing current and future staffing needs for OAs, SOAs, BOMs, and temporary workers.

      • Placement Coordination: Drive collaboration between ROMs and Talent Acquisition for efficient and effective candidate placement (training/permanent) across all managed roles.

      • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant federal, state (NYS), and local (NYC) labor laws, including FLSA, wage & hour regulations, meal/rest break requirements, and predictive scheduling ordinances. Serve as the SME for operational leaders.

      • Time Monitoring: Oversee hourly associate time tracking processes in Workday, ensuring accuracy, adherence to policies, and proper record-keeping.

      • Feedback: Provide direct, actionable feedback to ROMs and BOMs regarding compliance issues, timekeeping exceptions, and adherence to workforce procedures, utilizing reports, emails, and meetings.

      • Training: Develop and deliver targeted training programs for managers and relevant staff on labor laws, timekeeping procedures, scheduling guidelines, and compliance best practices. (Specific content, audience, frequency, delivery method TBD).

      • Reporting & Analysis: Develop, generate, and distribute regular reports and dashboards to key stakeholders (Head of School Operations, ROMs, BOMs, potentially HR/Finance). Reporting topics will include:

        • Headcount levels vs. staffing model/plan

        • Vacancy rates and time-to-fill metrics

        • Compliance trends (timekeeping accuracy, break adherence, overtime patterns)

        • Labor law compliance audit findings and risk areas

        • Overtime usage and related cost implications

        • Status of placement activities and hiring funnel insights

        • Provide ad-hoc analysis and data-driven recommendations on workforce matters as required.

      Compensation Range

      Annual Salary: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00

Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
