!*!A Scientific Technician I position is available in the Chhabra Lab beginning February of 2024 investigating the mechanisms underlying sex and age-dependent differences in melanoma tumor microenvironment. The technician will be trained to perform common molecular biology techniques including western blot, immunohistochemistry, flow-cytometry, tissue culture and other cell-based assays. Will undergo training in animal welfare practices, experimental methodology and applicable regulations to perform tumor modeling in animal models. Other laboratory duties include ordering and maintaining lab’s consumables and organizing and maintenance of equipment. Must have the ability to manage multiple concurrent activities and projects, making effective judgments as to prioritizing, time allocation and attention to detail.
Ideally, the individual will have a bachelor’s degree in a biological science and some level of experience in a scientific setting, will be highly motivated in learning new skills and techniques in science and enjoy working as part of a team. This position will provide the technician with training in many basic and more innovative techniques in molecular and cellular biology including laboratory management and career development.
