      CLA is seeking to hire an experienced Seasonal Tax Reviewer to join our talented tax team. The position offers flexibility and a collaborative work environment.

      This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of tax returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, or trusts. They also act as a technical resource and point of escalation for complex tax question.

      This role is intended for casual and/or seasonal family members.

      How you’ll create opportunities in this Seasonal Tax Reviewer role:

      • Review prepared tax returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, or trusts, checking for errors or discrepancies, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is included.
      • Provide guidance to tax preparers on tax matters and act as a technical resource for complex tax questions.
      • Frequently interface with client personnel to review and apply accounting and tax principles
      • Contact clients by phone or email to gather necessary information.
      • Review files to ensure that they possess the necessary signatures, contain the necessary supporting documentation, and comply with filing due dates
      • Obtain proper filing extensions when necessary
      • Perform detailed review on tax returns, research, and compliance work with an emphasis on calculations, accounting theory, and tax law compliance, depending on experience.
      • Perform all work in compliance with the firm’s policies and procedures
      • Maintain technical tax skills through on the job training and participation in internal tax training sessions
      • Conduct complex tax research and continue to abreast of current tax laws and regulations.
      • Assist clients with tax planning and business strategy.
      • Provide training and supervision to junior family members.

      What you will need:

      • 7 years of relevant experience required.
      • Bachelor's degree is required.
        • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
      • CPA is required (JD or Enrolled Agent is acceptable in lieu).

      The compensation range for this position in Minnesota is: $51.40 - $69.60

      The compensation range for this position in Illinois is: $45.30 - $81.70
