      Job Summary:

      We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for students in grades [6-12]. This role involves planning and delivering effective instruction aligned with curriculum standards and promoting a positive classroom culture.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Develop lesson plans that meet academic standards and are engaging and age-appropriate.
      • Create a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
      • Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
      • Assess student progress regularly and communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
      • Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and administration.
      • Participate in school events, professional development, and other duties as assigned.
      • Supports the District’s educational mission for all students and implements all Board regulations and policies in a fair and equitable manner
      • Maintains confidentiality
      • Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the principal or superintendent may assign

      Qualifications:

      • The minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
      • A valid Kansas Teacher’s Certificate with appropriate endorsement.
      • ESOL Endorsement preferred ($500.00 annual stipend bonus for Kansas ESOL licensed employees)
      • Strong classroom management and communication skills
      • Passion for working with children and fostering academic and personal growth

      Terms of Employment:

      Salary and work year to be determined in accordance with the Professional Agreement and approved by the U.S.D. #480 Board of Education.

      Evaluation:

      Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the U.S.D. #480 Board of Education policies.
