What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and maintain system security plans in compliance with company policy, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information for the creation and maintenance of SSPs
- Conduct thorough security assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented security controls
- Update IT security policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards
- Participate in audits, assist with compliance security and risk assessments, and work on remediation efforts

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Deep understanding of NIST standards (8-10 years)
- Experience developing comprehensive System Security Plans (SSPs) in accordance with NIST Special Publication 800-53 (8 years)
- Experience conducting security assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls (8 years)
- Technical writing skills
- Understanding of IRS 1075, SSA security, or other regulatory requirements

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with creating and maintaining IT policy and procedures
- CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification
- Knowledge of IT auditing practices
