- The City of Glendale observes 10.5 holidays per year, and full-time employees are also granted an additional 16 hours of holiday special leave per calendar year to celebrate their cultural or religious holidays.
- Vacation leave accrues at 5.33 hours per pay period (138 hours per year), and increases to 6.12 hours after 5 years, and to 7.6 hours after 10 years of service.
- Sick leave accrues at 4.4 hours per pay period (114 hours per year).
- Monitors CCTV, alarm and access control systems, and other physical security and emergency systems.
- Conducts vehicle and foot patrols of water and wastewater critical infrastructure sites.
- Reports and records site security deficiencies, suspicious activities, and emergencies.
- Monitors employee, visitor, and vehicle ingress and egress and prevents unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- Monitors personnel working in hazardous conditions to ensure their safety.
- Documents activities and prepares incident reports.
- Manages inbound calls; identifies and assesses customers’ needs; and coordinates and dispatches after-hour emergency service responders.
- Operates portable radios and/or phones to maintain police contact.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Valid Arizona driver's license.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

The Role:The Water Services Security Officer provides security for the City's water and sewer critical infrastructure. Duties include monitoring video surveillance, alarms, and access control systems; patrolling water/wastewater plants and
remote sites; managing inbound calls and dispatching service responders; and documenting and reporting suspicious activity.
Salary:
This salary range will be effective 7/1/23 pending City Council approval.This position is a Grade 307 with an annual salary between $36,898.94 - $55,349.06

This position participates in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Contribution is mandatory, and the current contribution rate is 12.17%.
Two years of experience as a security officer or police officer.
The preferred candidate for this role will have previous experience securing critical infrastructure such as roadways, railways, or electrical or water utility infrastructure.
