      JOB CONTEXT

      Send Relief focuses on mobilizing churches for compassion ministry, disaster response, and community transformation to meet communities' needs and share the gospel.

      JOB SUMMARY

      This position will support NAMB’s ministry objectives in meeting needs and changing live by establishing local ministry, coordinating compassion ministry among local churches, and mobilizing volunteers by providing operational leadership within the SEND Relief Team at the Ministry Center in Los Angeles, CA.

      KEY AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY & JOB DUTIES

      Assist in Advancing Compassion Ministry Efforts

      • Assessment: Evaluate the needs and resources of churches and communities to better direct compassion ministry efforts.
      • Training: Develop and deliver training programs to equip churches and church planters with the skills needed for effective compassion ministry.
      • Partnership: Foster relationships with churches, organizations, and other stakeholders to create a network of support for compassion initiatives.
      • Networking: Facilitate connections between churches and other entities to build a cohesive movement focused on restoration and compassion.
      • Mobilization: Encourage and organize churches and church planters to actively participate in compassion ministry activities.

      Encourage Networking Among Churches, Partners, and Planters

      • Organize and lead vision tours to provide insight into the needs and opportunities within the community.
      • Plan and coordinate mission trips to engage churches and partners in hands-on ministry efforts.

      Grow Core Ministry Activities

      • Develop and implement programs that serve the local community and provide learning opportunities for churches and individuals.
      • Equip participants with practical skills and knowledge to conduct compassion ministry that is contextually relevant to Los Angeles unique environment.

      Collaborate with Ministry Partners for Community Good

      • Work alongside a coalition of ministry partners to address the needs of individuals and families in the community.
      • Focus on building relationships and meeting practical needs as a foundation for sharing the gospel.

      Maintain Communication and Relationships with Ministry Partners

      • Ensure ongoing, effective communication with all partners involved in Send Relief.
      • Foster positive relationships to sustain and grow the collaborative efforts.

      Manage Strategic Metrics and Utilize Online Tools

      • Track and report on key metrics within NAMB (North American Mission Board) data systems to measure the impact and progress of compassion ministry efforts.
      • Leverage online tools and applications to facilitate the mobilization and engagement of churches in compassion initiatives.

      Additional Duties

      • Be flexible and willing to take on various tasks and responsibilities as directed by Ministry Center leadership to support the overall mission and goals of the organization.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in contextualized or cross-cultural ministry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
