      WHAT YOU'LL DO:
      • Own and manage the full-cycle accounts payable process: vendor onboarding, invoice review and coding, obtaining approvals, and scheduling payments via check, ACH, and wire.
      • Monitor AP aging and vendor accounts; proactively identify and resolve discrepancies or issues.
      • Review and process employee expense reports and reconcile corporate credit card statements, ensuring alignment with internal policies and federal regulations.
      • Supervise accounts payable clerk.
      • Contribute to month-end close by recording journal entries, reclassifying expenses as needed, and reconciling balance sheet accounts. Investigate and resolve open items.
      • Prepare and file required tax returns: gross receipts, sales and use taxes, and personal property tax.
      • Provide cash management support by assisting with the 13-week cash forecast, planning weekly disbursements, and recording cash receipts daily.
      • Participate in the annual financial audit by preparing schedules and responding to auditors' requests for information.
      • Maintain the fixed asset register, recording asset purchases and disposals, syncing it with IT, and posting monthly depreciation expense.
      • Work cross-functionally with project managers and analysts to ensure vendor payments are properly coded and aligned with project budgets.
      • Deliver exceptional internal and external customer service by promptly addressing AP-related questions and requests.
      • Track vendor and contractors spend against purchase order limits and handle 1099 reporting at year end.
      • Participate in fiscal year-end closing activities related to AP and cash.
      • Suggest process and policy improvements for better performance and efficiencies.
      • Ensure accurate and organized financial documentation is maintained in SharePoint and other systems of record.
      • Maintain and update accounts payable SOPs and work instructions to ensure clarity, accuracy, and best practices.
      • Ad hoc assignments or projects as needed.


      WHO YOU ARE:
      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
      • 5 years experience, 2 of accounts payable experience
      • Proficiency in Deltek CostPoint preferred
      • Experience with government contracting preferred
      • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., Power Query, XLOOKUPS, pivot tables)
      • Skilled in other MS Office apps such as SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint
      • Strong knowledge of GAAP and AP workflows
      • Independent and accountable, takes ownership and delivers results with minimal supervision
      • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
      • A clear and effective communicator with strong interpersonal and written skills
      • Committed to producing high-quality, error-free work and continuously improving financial processes
