      Responsible for processing the US and Canada payroll, ensuring the organization’s compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, and preparing the necessary journal entries, monthly reconciliations, monthly/quarterly reports, and other reports/analysis pertaining to payroll

      Detailed Job Description
      • Prepare and process US and Canada payroll for all employees, including validation of all inputs to employee payroll files. Ensure payroll is processed in compliance with Federal, multi-state wage and hour laws.
      • Maintain accurate record keeping of payroll transaction details and produce periodic payroll reports.
      • Input payroll journal entry to General Ledger and ensure proper coding of payroll expenses by department.
      • Prepare all accrued payroll and other accrued benefit plan journal entries as appropriate and prepare related account reconciliations.
      • Maintain employee paid time off balances in company’s timekeeping software
      • Complete state applications allowing the Company to do business and collect payroll taxes all states in which we operate/have employees.
      • Ensure payroll tax compliance, including withholdings, filings, and remittances
      • Review W-2, 1099, and other employment tax forms
      • Coordinate with payroll provider and HR team
      • Monitor business tax compliance, tax calendars and track filing deadlines
      • Ensure timely and accurate compliance filings and payments.
      • Support tax audits, inquiries, and notices from tax authorities
      • Maintain accurate tax documentation and workpapers
      • Assist with other accounting projects


      Education and Qualifications
      • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
      • 5+ years of accounting experience
      • Strong Excel skills; ability to work directly with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Workday)
      • High attention to detail and accuracy
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
