What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Build and maintain financial models for utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage renewable energy projects
- Conduct detailed project valuations, scenario analyses, and sensitivities to support investment decisions
- Assist in structuring project finance transactions and analyzing the impacts of various financial products
- Participate in commercial negotiations by analyzing financial implications of term sheets and contracts
- Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics affecting project economics and financing strategies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree (MBA or similar) or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus
- 3+ years of experience in project finance, renewable energy development, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling, including building complex project finance models
- Strong understanding of project finance structures, including debt financing and tax equity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain financial assumptions and risks to non-financial stakeholders
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with renewable energy project development stages such as permitting and construction
- Experience working with project agreements such as power purchase agreements (PPAs) and interconnection agreements
- Solid grasp of key financial concepts such as IRR, NPV, and cash flow mechanics
- Familiarity with the U.S. renewable energy market, tax incentives, and regulatory environment
- Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable in a fast-paced and evolving environment
