      PURPOSE

      • The purpose of the position is to perform tasks to ensure all work instructions related to the assembly of standard SMC product and simple to complex specials are followed while directing the activities of an assigned value stream. This position will also possess the capability to perform basic problem solving and provide feedback for improvement to SMC management and assist in
      • the training of established processes with less experienced assembly positions. In addition to assist in the training of established processes with less experience assembly positions, this position should also mentor these individuals in preparation for their movement to higher level positions.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES

      • Adherence to all department work instructions
      • Ensure respective area is compliant with 5S standards
      • Process all paperwork necessary associated with established assembly standards
      • Execute basic to advanced work flow tasks on established SMC systems
      • Assembles and tests standard SMC product and simple to complex specials
      • Ability to interpret and apply simple special documentation
      • Understanding of SMC’s part numbering system.
      • Understanding and application of WMS/ERP system pertaining to job operations
      • Ability to complete inventory transactions consistent with established work instructions
      • Ability to perform final assembly inspection
      • Understanding of basic problem-solving tools & techniques
      • Understanding of various process control tools & measurements
      • Understanding of basic pneumatic technology
      • Provides feedback and improvement recommendations for daily activities
      • Assist in the training of individuals with less experience and tenure on established assembly standards and practices
      • Mentor individuals in less experienced positions to prepare them for movement to higher level positions.
      • Direct the activities of a value stream as assigned
      • Responsible for maintaining order and discipline in the value stream as assigned
      • Adherence to all safety rules
      • Adherence to all Quality Management system standards and policies
      • Comply with required yearly training

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

      • Physical demands require the person to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
      • The person is frequently required to climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to hear and talk.
      • The work environment will expose employee to the following elements: Noise, Heat, Cold, Dust

      MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

      • High School Diploma or equivalent
      • Ability to work well in a team environment
      • Detail oriented
      • Ability to effectively communicate
      • 3 years or greater prior experience in a manufacturing environment
      • Basic computer skills preferred
